200. Saco family

Week 200  5/17/19

We were invited to visit Charlie and Andy for a fishing and visiting weekend. On the way we took a side adventure to Saco, Maine, home of Paul's Emery ancestors.

We first visited the historical archives and looked at some very impressive artifacts. This town is very proud of its heritage. We were told that the genealogical records could be found at the library in a room that is open limited hours. We decided to visit Saco again on our way back from Auburn so we could visit the archives and see more of the town.

Here is the museum.

Here is the library.

Some of the Emerys were quite prominent in town. After some searching, Paul found references to his branch of the family.

We ate lunch at a fun pub in a restored mill.

After lunch we took a walk through the Saco Heath Preserve.

Here is a picture of Charlie. He and Paul always seem to have good luck fishing together.
