101. Getting ready for a very special day!

Week 101  6/9/17

Tomorrow Ben and Gillian will be married. Preparations actually started months ago. One of my contributions was cutting and hemming this gingham for tablecloths. I finished early this week and ironed them yesterday.

Ben and Gillian planted these succulents a month before the wedding and left them to root on our porch. Ben made 80 tiny planters. The succulents will decorate the tables and can be taken home by guests.

Today, Gillian and Julia put together  bouquets for the bride, bridesmaids and Julia (the groomswoman). Sherry helped keep track of things and went with me on errands for extra flowers and food.

The reception tent was erected behind the blueberry bushes. Glassware, dishes, tableware and cloth napkins etc. were delivered.

Phil, Mike and Ernestine set up the "photo booth."

A female snapping turtle visited after laying her eggs near the caterer's canopy.

Ben cut down saplings and lashed them together to create a chuppah for the ceremony. Those Boy Scout skills came in handy today. John and Sherry helped him figure it out.

Decorator-in-chief Julia hung vases at the back of the chuppah as Paul, Gillian, Evan, Rhea and Heather looked on to check that they were hung evenly.

Emily puts the finishing touches on the chuppah.

Testing....

The women in the wedding party were treated to a manicure/pedicure party by Gillian. Besides the grooming, we had champagne, candy and strawberries! Sandy is happy!
