164. DGH Memorial Boardwalk

Week 164  8/21/18

The Medway Trail club ordered a beautiful plaque for the boardwalk that is named for my father. Today a few of them spent a couple of hours carefully chiseling the rock, which was found on the property, then attaching the brass plaque.

Paul and I brought blueberries to the trail club for snacking. Lots of wildflowers today.

163. Lake Waban

Week 163  8/17/18

Lake Waban at Wellesley College

We had not walked around Lake Waban yet this summer so today was the day.

We were met by Stanley the Muscovy duck. This species is not native to the area and probably escaped from the duck pond at Wellesley Town Hall years ago. He hangs around because he gets fed a lot.

 TZE House.

A peaceful spot to read or think.

Tupelo Point.

162 Keeping it local

Week 162  8/10/18

I know we took pictures of our trip to Ashland State Park. Where are they? Anyway, we brought the canoe and picnic lunch. We started with a trip around the park side of the lake. We enjoyed the cool water on this hot day. One person was swimming across the lake towing something.

Then we found a picnic table in a shady spot and ate our lunch as we watched the camp kids lining up in groups and splashing in the water.

We went to Craft Roots Brewing and joined a group celebrating the anniversary of the Milford Trail Club. This is a large active trail group that has been together for some time. Paul knew several of the members, including the founding member and first president, through his job.
