84. A new direction

Week 84  2/7/17

One of our favorite walks is the rail trail near our house. We usually head toward  Holliston because the Milford direction has been under construction.

I like that there are signs and side paths on the trail. We did not stop for a Tai Chi session this time.

This is where the rail trail connects with the Milford trail.

83. Centennial worth remembering

Week 83  1/31/17

As we are all thinking about the presidency after our recent election (what the heck happened and where are we going??!!! ) we decided to visit the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum. This year marks Kennedy's 100th birthday.

This was quite a visit with nostalgia for us. We wondered what the impression was on the middle-schoolers who were there. Their teachers did a good job.

Here is the proclamation that began the Peace Corps. We have several friends who served.

The Profile in Courage Award is given annually to one or more recipients.

Because of Kennedy's fondness for the sea, the library and museum has a vast view of the ocean from Boston's bay.

I loved this invitee list for a presidential banquet with Mrs. Kennedy's notes and scribbles.

The oval office replica complete with Kennedy rocker.

82. Dreaming of Tropics

Week 82  1/23/17

We spent a fun-filled weekend with Andy and Charlie in Auburn, Maine, planning our trip to Belize. The guys practiced knot-tying and we all watched videos of fishing on Ambergris Caye and the place where we will be staying.

We also had some great meals at the house and treated ourselves to a movie and Japanese food.
